On 6th February 1952, The Queen ascended the throne, upon the death of her father, King George VI. Throughout 2022 the United Kingdom will be celebrating the Queen’s 70th Jubilee, this being denoted by Platinum.

An extended bank holiday, from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June 2022, will provide an opportunity for communities and people throughout the United Kingdom to come together to celebrate the historic milestone. The four days of celebrations will include public events and community activities, as well as national moments of reflection on The Queen’s 70 years of service.

But, what is Ufford going to do to mark this remarkable anniversary? The Parish Council would like to set up a ‘Jubilee Committee’ in order that a series of events, suitable for all ages and abilities, can take place during the year. If you would like to be part of this Committee please contact the Parish Council Clerk (see below).
