How do I comment on a Panning Application?

Once an application has been lodged, if you would like to comment on it, it is very important that you do so directly to ESC. It is ESC who decide if an application can be permitted or not, not the Parish Council. Ufford Parish Council is a ‘Statutory Consultee’ so we are asked for our opinion on each application.

Play Park Open from 4th July

It's all happening in Melton!

27 June 2020

Over the past few weeks, Melton parish has seen a number of large Planning Applications go in to East Suffolk Council (ESC). The first was for an 80 bed care home with 75 ‘Assisted Living’ bungalows, on the field next to Upper Melton Terrace on Yarmouth Road. At the time of writing there is mixed feeling in the comments received on the Planning Portal.

PC Meetings via Video Conference – the new normal

Please remember, Ufford Parish Council are still meeting as usual, only at present this is via the Zoom Video Conference facility. As a member of the public or press you are more than welcome (in fact encouraged) to join us to listen in and we do have a short section at the beginning for any comments or questions you wish to put to the Council. We Zoomed it!

On Tuesday 19th May 2020 Ufford Parish Council made history and held its first Parish Council meeting via Video Conference. This method of meeting was made possible by a change in the legislation and we were delighted to welcome our County Councillor and a member of the public who also dialled in.

Annual Report from Parish Council Chair

The Annual Parish Meeting of Ufford for 2020 had to be cancelled due to Covid-19 restrictions. However, the report on the activities of the Parish Council over the previous year has been produced by the PC Chair, Dr Kathryn Jones and can be found here.

We are aware of a major planning application for a large development in Melton that is on the brink of being submitted (by the time you read this it may already have been!). The only realistic way we can alert residents to development such as this is through PUNCHLine.
