Are you interested in highways matters? County Councillor Mary Evans, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Highways, Transport and Rural Affairs at Suffolk County Council, will be attending the April meeting of Ufford Parish Council (16th April, 6.30pm at St Mary’s Parish Hall). Cllr. Evans will be interested to hear your comments on potholes, road works, signage and planning matters; in fact anything ‘Highways’ related. Do come along and take this opportunity to put forward questions and hear answers.
Every four years Parish Councillors are required to stand down and then, if they wish, stand for re-election; this is when other residents can also stand. The past four year tenure is almost up and during March, April and May 2019 the election process will be followed. Nomination papers will be available from late February/early March and can be obtained from your local Parish Clerk (see below). These have to be hand delivered to East Suffolk DC (the offices opposite Melton Station) by 4.00pm on 3rd April; no posting, faxing or e-mailing is permitted.
The ‘Precept’ is the amount of funding a Parish Council requests from the local District Council (DC). The DC collect this figure from local householders through the Council Tax and the breakdown of the figures should appear on your Council Tax bill (along with the amounts requested by the Police, Suffolk County Council and Suffolk Coastal DC).
Further to the article on page 6 of the January PUNCH, UPC have now arranged for EDF to visit Ufford to take specific questions from Ufford residents in relation to the Sizewell C Stage 3 Consultation. If you are concerned about any aspect of this major infrastructure project (probably the largest Suffolk will cope with over the next 20 years) then this is your opportunity to raise your concerns with EDF’s Communication Team.
Ufford PC will be holding an additional meeting on Monday 10th December, 6.00pm in St Marys Parish Hall. The agenda can be found on the Parish Council's pages
We would like to inform residents that application DC/17/2512/OUT (for a 60 bed care home, 33 dwellings and business units) at Crown Nursery, which was refused planning permission by SCDC, has now gone to appeal and will be heard by Public Inquiry.
Wednesday 31st October is the final day that Ufford Parish Council will accept Grant Request Forms for grants to be paid in April 2019. Please ensure your form reaches us by 5.00pm on that day.
Please note that the meetings of Ufford Parish Council over the winter months (October to March inclusive), will be held at the Ufford Community Hall, The Avenue, Ufford.
